EduPress Terms of Service
Effective date: May 7, 2026
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of EduPress, including the EduPress public website, mobile app, admin console, APIs, school profiles, communities, listings, posts, events, quizzes, notifications, and related services.
By accessing or using EduPress, you agree to these terms. If you use EduPress on behalf of a school, organization, or other institution, you represent that you are authorized to bind that institution.
This document is a working terms draft for EduPress and should be reviewed by a qualified legal adviser before formal adoption.
1. Accounts and Eligibility
EduPress supports different account types, including system administrators, school administrators, teachers, staff, students, community leaders, and public visitors.
Users must provide accurate account information and keep login credentials confidential.
Schools are responsible for authorizing users connected to their institution, assigning appropriate roles, and obtaining required consents for students and minors.
EduPress may suspend or restrict accounts where there is suspected unauthorized access, abuse, security risk, or violation of these terms.
2. Platform Services
EduPress provides tools for school publishing, mobile app updates, school communities, public profiles, posts, events, quizzes, rewards, listings, notifications, moderation, billing administration, and analytics.
EduPress may add, remove, change, or limit features to improve the service, maintain security, comply with law, or support platform operations.
Some features may be controlled by platform settings, school subscription status, role permissions, or administrator approval.
3. User Responsibilities
Users must use EduPress lawfully, respectfully, and in line with school rules and platform policies.
Users must not:
- Upload unlawful, harmful, abusive, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, exploitative, or infringing content.
- Post student information publicly unless authorized by the school and applicable consent rules.
- Use EduPress for cheating, impersonation, harassment, spam, fraud, or unauthorized advertising.
- Attempt to bypass permissions, access another account, scrape protected data, disrupt the service, or test security without permission.
- Upload malware, harmful code, or content intended to damage systems or users.
- Reverse engineer, copy, resell, or misuse EduPress software except where allowed by law or written agreement.
4. School and Institutional Responsibilities
Schools and institutions are responsible for their users, content approvals, student data instructions, consent processes, role assignments, subscription obligations, and compliance with school policies and applicable law.
Schools must ensure that public posts, student media, school profiles, events, listings, and other published content are accurate, authorized, and appropriate for publication.
EduPress may provide system-level controls, but schools remain responsible for day-to-day content governance inside their own school workspace.
5. Content Ownership and License
Schools, users, or their licensors retain ownership of content they submit to EduPress, including posts, media, school profiles, comments, events, quiz content, listing content, and related records.
By submitting content to EduPress, you grant EduPress a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, distribute, and adapt the content as needed to operate, secure, promote, and improve the platform.
For public content, this license includes displaying the content on the EduPress website, mobile app, listings pages, school pages, feeds, search previews, social previews, and related public surfaces until the content is unpublished or removed.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit content to EduPress.
6. Moderation and Removal
EduPress and authorized school administrators may review, moderate, hide, unpublish, or remove content that violates these terms, school policy, safety requirements, legal obligations, or platform standards.
EduPress may also limit comments, communities, listings, posts, media, or accounts to protect students, schools, users, or the platform.
7. Listings, Promotions, and Advertisements
EduPress may include listings, promotions, admissions notices, jobs, programs, business promotions, and advertisements.
Listings must be accurate, authorized, lawful, and not misleading. EduPress may reject, remove, expire, or edit listings that violate platform standards or legal requirements.
Unless expressly stated, EduPress does not guarantee the quality, availability, outcome, or suitability of any third-party opportunity, business, school program, job, product, or service promoted through a listing.
8. Payments and Subscriptions
Some EduPress features may require paid subscriptions, billing approval, or school-level plans.
Payment terms, billing cycles, taxes, renewals, refunds, account limits, and plan details may be described in separate invoices, subscription agreements, admin settings, or written agreements.
Failure to pay may result in feature limits, account suspension, or service interruption after reasonable notice where practical.
9. Third-Party Services
EduPress may integrate with third-party services for hosting, authentication, notifications, email, payments, analytics, media, and other platform functions.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. EduPress is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.
10. Intellectual Property
EduPress software, design, branding, platform workflows, code, documentation, and system materials are owned by EduPress or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Except for rights expressly granted in these terms or a written agreement, no rights are transferred to users or schools.
11. Disclaimers
EduPress is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. EduPress does not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times.
EduPress does not guarantee academic, admission, employment, marketing, financial, or business outcomes from using the platform.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EduPress will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from use of the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, EduPress liability will be limited to the amount paid for the relevant service during the period allowed by applicable law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold EduPress harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your use of EduPress, your violation of these terms, your breach of law, or your infringement of third-party rights.
For school accounts, this obligation applies to the institution to the extent permitted by law and the applicable agreement.
14. Termination
You may stop using EduPress at any time. Schools may request account deactivation, export, or deletion subject to legal, billing, security, backup, and operational limits.
EduPress may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, non-payment, legal risk, security risk, or platform abuse.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
Unless a written agreement says otherwise, these terms are governed by the laws applicable to EduPress operations in Uganda.
Disputes should first be raised through EduPress support so the parties can attempt a practical resolution.
16. Changes to These Terms
EduPress may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on the website or made available through the platform.
Continued use of EduPress after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
