Terms for schools
The extra terms that apply to schools and the people on their teams.
Terms for schools
These terms apply to schools on EduPress and to everyone on a school's team. They add to the Terms of Service and the Data Protection Addendum, which still apply in full.
This is a working draft for EduPress and should be reviewed by a qualified legal adviser before formal adoption.
1. Registering
1.1 The person who registers a school confirms that they are authorised to act for it.
1.2 The proof of registration you upload must be genuine.
1.3 EduPress may approve or reject an application. Where it rejects one, it gives a reason.
1.4 The school's email address must belong to the school, not to a person. The school's password must be kept secure. Anyone who signs in with them acts for the school.
2. Your team
2.1 The school decides who is on its team and what each person may do.
2.2 Only adults may be on a team.
2.3 Every school must keep at least one owner.
2.4 The school must remove people who should no longer have access.
3. What you publish
3.1 The school is responsible for everything it publishes, including:
- posts
- exam results
- events
- newsletters
- quizzes
- listings
- communities
- fundraisers
- live video
3.2 It must be accurate, lawful and something the school is allowed to publish.
3.3 By default, exam results are published as school totals only. If the school chooses to publish individual results, it confirms that it is allowed to publish each student's name and grades.
3.4 Do not publish other personal information about students without the consent the law requires.
3.5 EduPress may review, hide or unpublish content that breaks these terms or the community guidelines.
4. Reviewing reported messages
4.1 When a message involving someone at your school is reported, team members with the users permission can see the messages around the report, and the full conversation on request.
4.2 Use this access only to deal with the report. Every request to see a full conversation is recorded.
5. Fundraisers
5.1 Money raised in a community fundraiser is paid to the payout account the school's owner sets.
5.2 The school is responsible for using the money for the purpose it described to donors.
5.3 New payout accounts are held for 48 hours before they can be used.
6. Plans and payment
6.1 Paid plans are charged at the published monthly price, with 20% off for a year paid at once.
6.2 If a payment is not made, the school moves to the Free plan, and features that need a paid plan stop working.
7. Leaving
7.1 A school can ask EduPress to archive it. Archiving suspends the school's page, cancels its subscription and, by default, suspends the accounts linked to it.
7.2 EduPress may also archive a school that breaks these terms, giving a reason.
